About the Firm

A boutique corporate and securities law firm based in San Diego is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. The firm specializes in SEC matters, M&A, and general corporate counsel work.

The environment is highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and mentorship-driven. Attorneys work closely together in an open-door setting with a strong emphasis on professional development and long-term succession planning. Due to the hands-on structure, the firm values in-office collaboration and face time.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of matters and the opportunity to work within the securities space, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, and private and public funds.

  • Civil and commercial litigation with exposure to securities matters
  • Base salary: $165,000-$180,000 + bonus + full benefits
  • 1,500 billable hour target

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse civil and commercial litigation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Assist with trial preparation, including drafting motions, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witnesses
  • Manage expert witnesses, including selection, preparation, and testimony coordination
  • Provide timely client updates and case status reports
  • Utilize cloud-based litigation platforms and AI tools to enhance workflow and outcomes

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active California State Bar admission (required)
  • 3-6 years of commercial or civil litigation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of litigation procedures and rules
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with cloud-based litigation tools and billing practices
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
